Use cold or w arm water. Make sure cottons and knits are back in their original shape, and then lay flat on towels to dry. Many knits and woven fabrics can shrink w hen washed. Allow for this w hen buying. Also check the quality of the item.
For top loading machines, we recommend that the detergent is properly dissolved before adding clothes to the wash. The easiest w ay to do this is to fill the washing machine approx half w ay with water, add the detergent, then keep filling the machine. Once full, stop the load and add items, then commence the w ash. For front loading machines, please follow the manufacturer’s instructions on w here and how to load the washing detergent.
Before ironing it is important to check the care instructions on the garment to achieve the best results and avoid damaging the fabric. Using a fabric conditioner such as Cuddly Ultra in your w ash w ill reduce the static cling of fabrics, making them much easier to iron. Tumble drying on cool or w arm may also make ironing easier, but again, check the garment’s care instructions.
Drying in the sun gives a fresh outdoor feeling, but always turns clothes inside out to minimize fading. If line drying is not possible then use a dryer. The dryer should be on cool or w arm unless drying heavy items like towels, as the hot cycle sets can crease and shrink some clothes. Tumble drying on cool or w arm may make ironing easier. Some items such as woolens lose their shape if hung on the line and will shrink if put in the dryer. For these items it is best to lay them flat on a tow el out of direct sunlight.
By fabric: Separate delicate fabrics that require a gentle wash from heavier items.
By color: Separate whites from colors, and pastels from dark colors.
By soil level: Soil can travel from one garment to another so wash heavily soiled garments separately.
The care label on your clothes recommends which water temperature to use.
• Cold (20°C) Ideal for fabrics that might shrink or fade in w arm water and recommended for typical wash-and-wear items.
• Warm (35°C) Recommended for permanent press items including light to medium colors.
• Hot (55°C) Provides maximum cleaning for items that can stand hot water without losing color or shrinking.
Most stains can be removed completely, provided that they are handled promptly and properly.
Follow these general tips:
• Act fast and rinse stains in cold water before they have a chance to set.
• Check the fabric before removing any stain.
